Adecco is currently recruiting for a contract position of a Case Manager – Long term disability in Kitchener, ON. This is a 12 months contract with a top Insurance company and it pays $26.25/hr. The ideal candidate must have:

  1. Excellent communication skills
  2. Health Science background - Ability to be able to identify medical and non-medical barriers
  3. Strong relationship management skills
  4. Problem solving, decision-making abilities

As a Case Manager – Long term disability you will be responsible for the assessment of long term disability claims, the development of specific case management plans, and key decisions. These duties rely on your sound analysis of disability contracts and your ability to think strategically while applying sound judgment.

Communication skills are a vital part of this position as you will deliver difficult messages and manage relationships with Plan Administrators, medical professionals, and other key stakeholders.

Case Manager – Long term disability responsibilities will include:

  • Assessment of long term disability claims including the identification, and analysis of medical, contractual, and eligibility information
  • Development of case management plans
  • Consistent interaction with Claimants and Clients
  • Development of case management plans
  • Assessment of Long Term Disability and Waiver of Premium claims including the analysis of medical, contractual, and eligibility information in order to render a decision on the claims.


Case Manager – Long term disability preferred candidate, you will possess:

  • Familiarity with medical terminology;
  • Analytical skills with a strong attention to detail - particularly with numbers, spelling and grammar
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • The skills to multi-task, prioritize, and work in a fast-paced environment;
  • Very strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively deliver difficult messages to clients by telephone and in the form of very detailed letters of explanation;
  • Strong customer service experience, with proven ability to build and manage relationships with external and internal clients.
  • Intermediate PC skills - including data entry, MS Word and MS Excel

• BA in Kinesiology with relevant clinical experience
• BSc and up in Kinesiology
• Physiotherapy
• Occupational Therapy
• BA in Psychology with relevant clinical experience (BA Psych alone is not enough as the degree is too general), MA in Psychology and up
• Registered Nurse or Nurse Practitioners (RNAs and RPNs are not considered sufficient)
• Chiropractors
• Foreign trained physicians who are not yet licensed to practice in Canada
Individual will need to have graduated from a Canadian University for foreign equivalent (that we recognize and accept). We would also expect that they are in good standing with their applicable practicing body/association

• What software / hardware / methodologies will they need to have experience with? Intermediate PC skills including data entry, MS Word and MS Excel
• Any certain education required (i.e. computer science degree, business degree, etc.) Health related education or background or relevant experience in disability management.
• How many hours per week are they required to work? 37.5
• When do you expect to conduct interviews? As soon as possible.
