Adecco is currently looking for an action-oriented individual with strong team building, relationship management, and problem-solving skills to join its fast paced team as a Short Term Disability Case Manager on a contract basis.
Our client is a top insurance company in Vancouver, BC. This is a 14 months contract and it pays $25.00/hr. In order to qualify for this role, you must have

Short Term Disability Case Manager Job Description

Are you looking for an opportunity to challenge your customer service and administrative skills while improving your medical terminology knowledge?

In this role, you will be responsible for managing short term disability claims from intake to payment. This function includes key accountabilities that require a strong commitment to quality, and business knowledge. Your strong communication skills will help you succeed as you develop relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.

On a typical day, you could expect to accomplish the resolution of short term disability claims, address escalated client concerns, and develop case management plans to either facilitate a Return to Work program or a transition to a long term disability option.

Short Term Disability Case Manager responsibilities will include:

  • Setting up new short term disability claims. This function will include contractual interpretation and accurate data entry
  • Making decisions on and payment of Short Term Disability claims using contractual, medical, functional, and vocational analysis
  • Frequent written and verbal communication to clients and stakeholders within and outside of the medical community, plan members and plan administrators
  • Maintain productive relationships with internal stakeholders to maintain service level targets
  • Constant prioritization of conflicting demands with extremely tight turnaround times

Short Term Disability Case Manager ideal candidate:

  • Familiarity with medical terminology;
  • A focused attention to detail - particularly with numbers, spelling and grammar;
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills;
  • Very strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively deliver difficult messages to clients by telephone and in the form of very detailed letters of explanation;
  • The skills to multi-task, prioritize, and work in a fast-paced environment;
  • Intermediate PC skills - including data entry, MS Word and MS Excel;
  • Strong customer service experience, with proven ability to build and manage relationships with external and internal clients.

  • Overtime may be required during peak periods
