    • Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Monitoring and reporting on process performance, identifying, and correcting process deviations and driving process improvements
  • Leading and/or supporting projects to improve safety, process and cost performance ensuring maximum value delivery to the organization
  • Supporting operations in day-to-day problem solving and ensuring the impact on process stability is considered in all decision making
  • Supporting operations personnel in the development and maintenance of their technical expertise, including training, and coaching where required
  • Interacting with our global network of technical experts to bring additional expertise to bear when required and to drive plant performance
  • Providing occasional technical support outside of normal work hours
  • Acting as a credible technical resource to supervisors and technicians in their own sector and influencing peers and leaders by providing solid input in projects and daily activities

    • Requirements & Qualifications:

  • Must be local to Kitimat, BC or willing to relocate
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field, such as Process Control, Mineral Processing, Chemical Engineering, Metallurgy, or other
  • A member of, or eligible to register with APEGBC as an Engineer
  • Minimum 3+ years of Process Engineer experience within the metal or aluminum industry is a must
  • Experience with Lean Six Sigma methodology is an asset
  • A commitment to the safety of yourself and your team
  • A proven aptitude for problem-solving and statistical data analysis
  • Collaborative attitude and strong communication skills with the ability to communicate complex technical information simply and succinctly
  • Must be legally eligible to work, and reside in Canada
