Adecco is currently hiring for a full-time, permanent Extended Length Certified Line Haul Driver, to work for a leader in the transportation in Western Canada. In this role, you will operate a tractor-trailer combination to transport and deliver goods. You will be assigned specific runs by line haul dispatch and are expected to adhere to the assigned route.
Pay Rate: Paid by the mile LCV
Shifts: 2 roles, 2 Runs| Edmonton to Calgary Pin to Pin, no unloading, start at 1pm | Edmonton to Ft. Mac start at 11pm |Weekends Occasionally

Duties and Responsibilities:
Oversee secure loads, including equipment preparation, application of safe practices, compliance with applicable Acts and regulations
Perform trip inspections on equipment operated and load, in compliance with regulations and policies. Check vehicles before driving them to ensure that mechanical, safety, and emergency equipment is in good working order
Comply with applicable legislation including safe operation, load securement, driver's hours of service, occupational health and safety, transportation of dangerous goods, and weights and dimensions
Maneuver trucks into loading or unloading positions, following signals from loading crew as needed; check that vehicle position is correct and any special loading equipment is properly positioned
Report vehicle defects, accidents, traffic violations, or damage to the vehicles to fleet and safety personnel
Check all load-related documentation to ensure that it is complete and accurate
Operate equipment such as hand-held devices (only when the vehicle is in park), CB radios, and telephones to exchange necessary information with bases, supervisors, or other drivers
Maintain logs of working hours and of vehicle service and repair status, following applicable provincial and federal regulations
Record and maintain required documentation including driver logbook, bills of lading, etc. by manual or electronic means
Communicate effectively with the public, customers, and co-workers both verbally and in written form
Perform periodic inspections before, during, and after delivery to ensure that load is properly fastened down and is secure
Deliver product and proper paperwork to our customers in a courteous and timely manner
Ensure that any debris caused by the loading/unloading of truck is cleaned up
Provide feedback to supervision regarding customer problems, mechanical problems, or delivery problems
Hook up sets including A-box, B-Box, and convertors
Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements and Qualifications:
High School Diploma, GED or equivalent is an asset
PDIC, Defensive Driving Course & LCV Certification – for LCV certified runs are a must
A valid Cass 1 License and extended length certified drivers are required to participate in professional driver improvement courses and long combination vehicle training
Capable of working both indoors and outdoors
Air brake endorsement (Q) is required
Must be computer Literate
Able to perform routine vehicle maintenance
Manual dexterity is required to use handheld devices and peripherals
Able to work overtime as required
Capable to work different shifts, including weekends
Able to lift up to 50 pounds and operate equipment
Willing to travel when required
Should have strong oral and written communication skills with a high level of personal integrity and strong work ethic
Should have a strong use of timelines and time management techniques
Must have a professional/mature demeanor under stressful situations
Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment, with little supervision
Should be self-directed with a positive attitude at all time
Must pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol test and pre-occupational testing
Must be legally eligible to work, and reside in Canada
