Adecco is currently recruiting for a Full-time Chemical Technologist, to work a one-year contract, with a high possibility of extension, at a well-established energy company majoring in the production of synthetic crude from oil sands, in Edmonton, AB. In this role, you will be responsible for analyzing oil, water and soil using dean and stark extraction , and particle size distribution using laser diffraction.

  • Location: Edmonton, AB
  • Shifts: Monday-Friday | 8 hours per day
  • Job type: Full-time | one-year contract, high possibility of extension
  • Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Perform sample preparation prior to analysis, operation and maintenance of analytical equipment and data input and interpretation
  • Responsible for analyzing oil, water and soil using dean and stark extraction and particle size distribution using laser diffraction
  • commit to working safely, intervene when necessary and follow all safety procedures
  • Support other laboratory activities as required
  • Requirements and Qualifications: 

  • Diploma of Chemical Technology, minimum 2-year program
  • Minimum 5- 8 years of Research Laboratory experience within Oil & Gas industry
  • Past work experience in a research lab and instrument troubleshooting abilities
  • Past work experience in analysis of oil, water and Soil
  • Must have outstanding analytical skills
  • Able to learn new skills and  have strong lab training skills
  • Should have comfortable steel toed footwear required to work in the Research & Development laboratory
  • Must have good interpersonal skills and excellent housekeeping habits, with the ability to work well within a team
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written are required for communication of results
  • Must be legally eligible to work and reside in Canada
