Adecco is currently recruiting for a Senior Chemist for a full time and permanent position with our Private Client in Brockville, ON. 
The Senior Chemist will have the following responsibilities:
-    The Quality Control Senior Chemist - Projects will share the responsibility for QC related activities for new product launches with the QC Projects Leader. The QC Senior Chemist Projects will provide bench support for new method introductions, compendial changes requiring lab support, and new customer requirements. Provides support to analytical laboratory functions as required;
-    Provide bench support for testing, method transfers, protocol executions, and associated analytical requirements (equipment sourcing and evaluation) related to project work;
-    Act as contact for analytical customer representatives in regards to project deliverables and initiatives;
-    Creation/modification/management of the documentation pertaining to the new product introduction including change controls, verification/validation activities, method transfers, vendor certification, AWC creation/updates and CALS updates. Support from other areas in QC will be coordinated as required;
-    Initiate and lead laboratory investigations, notification of events (deviation reports), and provide technical expertise on CAPA related to project work;
-    Work with QC lab on continuous improvement opportunities to ensure the lab stays compliant and competitive with today’s industry standards;
-    Carry out special projects, involved with new product launches or as assigned by lab leadership (technical/analytical bench support and documentation support required);
-    Provide training support on instrumentation and procedural techniques for analysts to allow transfer of project work into the main stream production environment;
-    Evaluate materials currently outsourced to contract labs and provide plan and ability to move testing requirements in house;
-    Other duties as required and approved by QC leadership.
The Senior Chemist must meet the following mandatory requirements:
-    A University degree in analytical chemistry, organic chemistry or pharmacy is preferred. Post-Secondary education in a science field with work experience will be considered;
-    8+ Years related QC work experience in a pharmaceutical laboratory that shows a progression in duties and responsibilities, including leadership duties;
-    Comprehensive knowledge of GLP, GMP, USP specifications and methods;
-    Proficiency in computer applications such as Microsoft Office, Excel and LIMS;
-    Experience communicating with customers (internal and external). Excellent interpersonal, communication (written and verbal) and organizational skills are required;
-    Leadership and people management skills required.
