Detailed Job Description:

Perform full-time, on-site, construction-related project engineering tasks.

Prepare, schedule, coordinate, and monitor assigned tasks and projects.

Communicate effectively with internal and external construction team members.

Interpret project documents to determine requirements and necessary paths of action.

Ensure quality control/quality assurance in areas related to construction and design.
-
Submit reports on project execution status.
-
Monitor and report on compliance in all aspects of the project.

Represent technical topics to the project team.

Review engineering deliverables and initiate appropriate corrective actions.

Ensure deliverable deadlines, quality, and cost targets are met.
-
Manage external service providers.
-
Organize acceptances and handovers.
-
Prepare site reports and complete other site documentation.

Conduct site inspections.
-
Develop labor and material cost estimates.
-
Resolve technical difficulties that occur during a construction project.
-
Occasionally travel to Europe.
Candidate's Profile:
-
Legally eligible to work and reside in Canada.
-
International mindset with an interest in global work and diverse teams.

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution (ABET or Engineers Canada) in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, Architecture, or a related field, or equivalent.

P.Eng. or P.E. preferred but not required.
-
8+ years of experience in the construction industry, preferably with execution of industrial facilities.

Experience working specifically on large projects.

Experience being responsible for technical aspects of a construction project related to Civil Engineering, including but not limited to: Earthwork, Foundations, Buried Pipe.

Experience working within large, complex project teams and actively participating in construction meetings.

Experience working on Design-Build projects.

Proficient in reading and understanding construction drawings and specifications.

Familiarity with the nuances of the design and construction process.

Able to work safely on an active construction site in accordance with the Health & Safety Plan.

Ability to predict potential problems and solve them using logical approaches and analytical thinking.

Strong collaboration skills to efficiently delegate work and interact with team members, engineers, architects, and construction managers.

High levels of team orientation and social competence.

Detail-oriented with a focus on achieving overall project goals.

Proficiency in construction scheduling, workflows, and quality control/quality assurance.

Fluent with the MS Office suite (i.e., Office, Excel, PowerPoint).
