Adecco is currently hiring for a Clinical Research Associate I for our Medical Manufacturing client in Ottawa West. This is a 1-year contract opportunity offering full time hours, Monday – Friday. The salary for this position will be determined based on education and experience.

Position Overview:

As an Associate Research Scientist, you will be involved in implementing protocols, studies and operational processes within the Clinical Affairs group of the R&D Department.  You will be assisting with the execution and monitoring of clinical studies for the i-STAT® whole blood testing system. 

Responsibilities:

  • As part of the Clinical Affairs Team, your responsibilities will include assisting with the: preparation of study specific documents, maintenance of Trial Master Files, writing standard operating procedures, and logistical support for clinical studies. 
  • You may also participate in remote study monitoring to ensure timely and successful execution of clinical studies. 
  • You will interact with an interdisciplinary team of scientists, project managers, statisticians and data managers to design, execute, analyze and report on clinical studies.
  • Required Education and Experience:

  • Minimum Education:  B.Sc. preferred, or equivalent work experience
  • 0-1 years experience in conducting clinical research or related scientific laboratory skills.  
  • Strong technical writing skills is an asset (English)
  • Demonstrated attention to detail and commitment to quality
  • Knowledge of Good Clinical Practice is preferred.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills (English)
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a multi-disciplinary environment.
  • You must be a self-starter and have the ability to follow instructions and use good judgment.
  • The individual must be flexible and be able to work in a fast paced environment with changing priorities.
  • This position requires someone who can work Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
  • Some travel may be required (less than 5%)
