Adecco is currently hiring a full-time Clinical Research Manager for our Medical Manufacturing client in Ottawa West. This is a 1-year contract opportunity offering full time hours. The salary for this position will be determined based on education and experience.

Clinical Research Manager Responsibilities:

  • Establish and manage a blood collection program to support safety and efficacy testing of medical diagnostic devices.
  • Assess opportunities on-site or with local area hospitals to source blood supply for testing of medical devices.
  • Develop internal/external clinical study program to support the R&D development needs.
  • Internal clinical study program may be used to supplement existing program for release testing of manufactured products if required.
  • Contracting with other sites as required.
  • Prepare, approve, and amend study documents.
  • Ensure compliance with quality and regulatory requirements. 
  • Execute study-related administrative tasks, such as collection and maintenance of regulatory documents, ethics submissions, etc as required.
  • Manage program.  Ensure efficient and effective execution of all processes.
  • Ensure that all existing and new studies are implemented and conducted in compliance with preapproved protocols, corporate and site procedures/policies, and applicable IRB/IEC and local, provincial, and national requirements.
  • Ensure that the rights, safety and welfare of those participating in clinical program are protected and as such these primarily important considerations should prevail over the interests of science, society and business needs.
  • Collaborate with the Medical Director and OHS Physician regarding out-of-range specifications and OOR agreement (documented concurrence).
  • Clinical Research Manager Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or recognized equivalent in a health or science-related discipline
  • Nursing degree an asset. 
  • 5+ years of clinical and/or professional experience
  • Experience in clinic management, nursing, or clinical study management preferred.
  • Demonstrated analytical, problem solving, decision making abilities are required.
  • Experience in a Quality Management environment is an asset. 
  • Venipuncture experience is an asset.
  • Knowledge of ICH guidelines, Good Clinical Practice, Health Canada blood regulations required
  • Recognized certification in clinical research (ACRP, CCRP or SOCRA) preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to set priorities and work independently with accuracy in a multitasking environment
