Our client is looking for an CNC Machinist for pumps and mixers, someone who is mechanically inclined, enjoys working with their hands, self-motivated, attentive to detail, and takes pride in doing a good job.

Location: Milton, ON
Shift: 2:30pm to 11:00 pm plus shift premium
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Salary: $23.00 to $29.00 /hour

Reports to: Production Supervisor

Responsibilities
  • Interpret engineering drawings, procedures to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished work pieces, sequence of operations and setup requirements
  • Provide assistance in planning the production cycle in order to set and achieve optimal production targets
  • Continually maintain the CNC programming database
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose common CNC problems
  • Closely monitor machines for signs of problems while ensuring output is meeting set specifications
  • Communicate with supervisors, engineers, production control, quality and other shop personnel for assignments and to resolve machining or quality issues
  • Liaise with management to identify areas of inefficiency
  • Within the scope of the job requirements, will be required to adhere and comply with al and federal law, the Company ISO Quality Program and procedures, Company policies and Safety and Environmental Regulations
  • Verify dimensions of machined parts or tooling using micrometers, Vernier’s, calipers, height gauges or other specialized measuring instruments
  • Report deviations from specifications and tolerances to supervisor
  • Maintain inspection records and complete inspection reports
  • May perform other duties as assigned by supervisor

Job Qualifications
  • Experience with Esprit programming an asset
  • Education in mechanical engineering or technology
  • Experience with conversational control
  • A minimum of three to five years’ experience in a related manufacturing environment is preferred
  • Proficient knowledge and ability to read engineering drawings.
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills are required
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Good written and verbal communication skills are necessary
  • Shop floor environment
  • Over-time hours may be required
Experience
  • CNC Lathe and programming: 3 years
  • Experience using program to program software Esprit
