Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Read, understand, and comply with all Company policies and procedures, including the Employee Handbook, Occupational Health and Safety requirements, and provisions of the Collective Bargaining Agreement.

  • Utilize CAM software to create programs for a variety of lathes, milling machines and multi-tasking machining centers.

  • Create setup sheets, SOP’s and work instructions for CNC operators and machinists.

  • In coordination with Manufacturing Engineers, develop work-holding fixtures.

  • Ensure parts are produced to specifications, workpiece dimensions are correct and made within tolerances.

  • Actively participate in, and contribute to, continuous improvement and safety initiatives in the workplace.

 Requirements and Qualifications: 

  • Journeyperson Machinist trade certificate, or equivalent international accreditation.

  • 10+ years of experience programming CNC machining equipment using CAM programming software.

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience using GibbsCAM software to program CNC lathes and 5 axis mill-turn machines.

  • Knowledge and minimum 3 years’ experience applying Fanuc type macro variables and conditional macro logic in EIA programming format.

  • Extensive experience in machining and programming for alloy and carbon steel parts.

  • Previous experience implementing in-process inspection, tool life management and other methods supporting unattended machining processes.

  • Reliable transportation and available to work 10-hour shifts, primarily day shifts with occasional afternoon shifts as needed.

  • Must be a permanent resident or a citizen of Canada
