Adecco is currently hiring a temporary full-time Collections Specialist for our client located in Brampton, ON. In this role, as a key member of our Accounts Receivable Collections Department, you will be responsible to answer all inbound communication that are direct result of the company providing services and products to our customer. You be required to assess, research, and review each inquiry, provide required documentation and resolution in a timely, professional, and ethical manner, while ensuring that past due balances are settled. The position reports to the Manager, Credit & Collections.  

  • Pay Rate: $18.00/hour
  • Location: Brampton, ON
  • Availability Required: Monday-Friday | 8-hour shift between 7:00am-8:00pm

  • Responsibilities:

  • Provide Efficient and Effective Customer Service to our Clients.
  • Effectively Manage in-bound Call Inquiries and/or makes outbound calls as part of resolution management
  • Collect and Process Customer Payments and assist/provide documentation to customer as required
  • Communicate with debtors to negotiate timely repayment, attempt to bring resolution to unpaid accounts
  • Provide thorough, efficient, and accurate documentation on all related activities
  • Educate our customers on practices, procedures and self-service options to avoid future collection activity.
  • Provide feedback and recommendations to management to implement processes improvements.
  • Routing of relevant information to other departments and locations as appropriate
  • Monitor and answer e-mail inquires
  • Maintain and update detailed documentation of interaction
  • Follow up with various departments within the organization to resolve any issues
  • Release orders per Company Policy and Guidelines
  • Implement key strategies to drive results and goals.
  • Meet all Key Performance Indicators
  • Other duties as assigned by Manager
  • Requirements:

  • Must be legally eligible to work, and reside in Canada
  • Minimum 1-2 years of previous collections / call center and/or high-volume sales experience
  • Previous experience working with in-bound dialer/call-center telecommunication solution
    Knowledge / Skills / Abilities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills (English); Bilingual in French (written and verbal) is a definite asset!
  • Exceptional computer skills (MS Office, Intermediate Excel)
  • Creative problem solving, strategic, strong analytical skills and innovative thinker
  • Self-starter, excellent organization, and time management skills
  • Ability to De-Escalate while customer is on the phone
  • Ability to prioritize workflow, operate independently in a demanding, fast-paced environment to deliver results with a continuous improvement mindset to support best in class process
  • Strong team player, understanding that you deliver as a team
  • Ability to work independently and find ethical options to improve customer payment profiles.
  • Demonstrated track record of excellent attendance and punctuality
  • Commitment to delivering and continuously improving excellence in customer service

  • Ability to respond to adverse situations e.g., irate customers, high call volumes with sensitivity and tact
  • Ability to make sound judgment calls
