Adecco is currently hiring for a temporary, full-time Commercial Contracts Advisor, to work at a well-established integrated oil and natural gas company, in Calgary, AB. In this role, you will be reviewing, drafting, and negotiating standard and non-standard agreements with multiple internal and external stakeholders.

  • Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Ensure timely and accurate review, negotiation, execution, management, and retention of incoming and outgoing parental guarantees and confidentiality agreements, and various Trading, Supply and Logistics commodities, such as crude oil and natural gas purchase and sale agreements
  • Coordinate with Front Office and its support functions such as Credit, Legal, Tax, Accounting, Insurance, Customs and Risk Compliance to draft, negotiate, review, and amend guarantees and confidentiality agreements and various commodities purchase and sale agreements
  • Interact directly as the company representative with counterparties to complete negotiations of agreements
  • Use day-to-day knowledge, recognize trends and identify new business needs: work with the Front Office and its Support Functions in the development and continuous improvement of precedent agreements, one-off contracts, and company practices
  • Maintain an evolving knowledge of changing industry practices pertinent to marketing agreement types
  • Ensure proper records documentation and contractual data are maintained in SharePoint, the document management system, and Egistix and Allegro (ETRMs).
  • Requirements and Qualifications: 

  • A minimum of 5 years of related experience in the negotiation of guarantees, confidentiality agreements, and various commodity purchase and sale contracts are required
  • Legal assistant program and/or legal background is an asset
  • Experience reviewing, drafting, negotiating, executing, managing and retaining contracts is a must
  • Should have an exceptional understanding of Incoterms and legal contractual language
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with attention to detail are required
  • Must have a strong work ethic with an ability to work both independently and within a collaborative team
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills with solid stakeholder management capability are a must
  • Able to function in a fast-paced environment, with competing priorities 
  • Must be legally eligible to work and reside in Canada
