Our client in the Financial Services Industry is hiring a Communication Consultant for Waterloo, Ontario. The Communications Consultant will be dealing with internal and external customers. The Communication Consultant must have experience planning, developing and deploying communications in support of various product and project initiatives. The Communications Consultant must have experience with corporate communications, communications consulting, marketing and project management. The Communication Consultant role pays $40.00-$41.00 per hour and is a 10 month contract.  

Responsibilities

  • Working closely with subject matter experts to define the communication need, the perspectives of each audience and what outcome we’re trying to achieve.
  • Developing and executing detailed communication plans that get the right message to the right audience at the right time.
  • Taking complex concepts and making them clear and relevant.
  • Creating or editing customer communications to ensure our messages are clear and engaging.
  • Managing a diverse workload with demanding and/or competing deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Maintaining a high standard of quality in all writing, including creative approach, grammar and structure.
  • Adapting your writing style and content to suit various audiences.
  • Ensuring all messages appropriately support brand strategy.
  • Collaborating and consulting with internal and external partners.
     

Qualifications:
 

  • Post-secondary education, preferably in English, communications, public relations or journalism; or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years previous communications experience, preferably in a corporate environment.
  • Solid background in the development and execution of communication and marketing plans, including the creating of messaging and collateral for a variety of audiences.
  • Excellent writing, proofreading and content analysis skills.
  • Proficient in PC (MS Office) software.
  • Extremely detail-oriented, self-starter, deadline-driven.
  • Receptive and adaptive to an evolving, fast-paced environment.
