Adecco is currently recruiting for a Communications Officer_ Bilingual for a permanent full-time position. This role is with our client located in Ottawa, ON. The organization is a very friendly, yet fast paced environment; always looking to mentor people and ensure they are happy to productive.

The Communications Officer_ Bilingual  will have the following responsibilities:

  • Compose, edit, draft and contribute to the writing and distribution of internal and external communications, including regular content for the organization’s digital presence, an annual report, a stakeholder newsletter, PowerPoint presentations, notes for team members, and various assignments and publications;
  • Undertake translations personally or coordinate by contractor;
  • Review translations for quality control to confirm accuracy of translation;
  • Edit and review documents in both official languages and maintain the organization’s Lexicon for English and French terms used by all the organization’s programs.
  • Maintain the organization’s websites by regularly posting documents and updating relevant information and effecting quality control;
  • Provide communication and translation support to the organization’s key programs;
  • Respond and/or coordinate responses to public inquiries from the organization’s email address.
  • Collect and manage statistical information relevant to the organization’s initiatives.
  • Support the Manager of Communications in the completion of the organization’s mandate, including media and administrative support.
  • Support the structure and delivery of Board meetings as needed
  • The Communications Officer_ Bilingual must meet the following mandatory requirements:

  • 5 years of relevant writing and communications experience in the non-profit sector, ideally in the healthcare sector
  • Must have sample writing examples ( reports, research document)

  • A degree or diploma in administration, communications, public affairs or a related field is a strong asset.

  • Excellent bilingual communication skills (verbal and written, English and French).
  • Strong interpersonal skills able to meet the professionalism standard of the role.
  • Strong attention to detail and a dedication to producing accurate work.
  • Able to prioritize activities and utilize effective time management skills to meet competing project needs.
  • Experience with website software and content management systems is an asset.
  • Able to work productively independently and as part of a small but dynamic team.
  • Proficient with the Microsoft Office Suite within a professional environment.
