Our client is currently searching for a Consolidation Analyst for their Toronto office.  This is a result of rapid growth, the consolidation of financial results has become more complex.  This position will work closely with the Senior Manager of Financial Reporting and International Facilities.  The Consolidation Analyst will be responsible for supporting timely and accurate consolidation of international subsidiaries, non-IFRS measures (EBITDA and FCF), and internal reporting.

Consolidation Analyst Accountabilities:

  • Prepare accurate, timely financial statements in accordance with the established schedule.
  • Pinpoint and resolving issues related to new subsidiaries, departments, acquisitions and partnerships.
  • Closely interact with international subsidiaries to determine the best way to achieve consistent application of accounting policies.
  • Active role in the analysis of technical accounting issues and standardization of reporting across new business lines.
  • Experiment with current ERP system to increase automation in the consolidation process.

Consolidation Analyst Job Duties:

  • Interact with international subsidiaries and external service providers to ensure timely receipt of monthly, quarterly and annual financial reporting.
  • Review reporting from international subsidiaries to ensure consistency with accounting policies and identify gaps and propose solutions that take into account of local consolidation requirements.
  • Consolidate the results of international subsidiaries for IFRS accounting purposes by eliminating intercompany balances.
  • Consolidate the results of international subsidiaries for non-IFRS measures by calculating EBITDA and FCF policies.
  • Assist the international subsidiaries and external service providers by preparing schedules, reconciliations, reporting packages, and variance analysis as well as responding to auditor inquiries.

Consolidation Analyst Qualifications:

  • Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation.
  • You have 2 years of experience working in a technical accounting role, with direct experience with IFRS.
  • Multi-currency consolidations considered an asset.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills is a must.
  • Experience with Workday Finance or similar ERP solutions.
  • Knowledgeable of IFRS, particularly consolidation accounting.
