Adecco is currently recruiting for a Construction Estimator for a permanent placement with our client in Pickering. 

The Construction Estimator will have the following responsibilities:

  • Preparation of estimates/quotes of probable costs of materials, labour and equipment for review
  • Liaison with clients, build relationships with various stakeholders
  • Attendance and participation in tender meetings, advise on tendering procedures, examine and analyze tenders and preparation of job tenders
  • Carrying out on-site visits to confirm scope of work and holding initial scope of work review meetings;
  • Prepare and maintain a directory of suppliers and contractors;
  • Liaise and communicate with engineers, architects, owners and contractors;
  • Submit and follow up on status of bids;
  • Work closely with project staff;
  • Read and interpret drawings, proposals and other documentation to create bids.
  • Track and analyze data to reduce gaps between estimates and actual costs.
  • Obtain and track subcontract bids and negotiate budgets.
  • Maintenance of job files, project digital database
  • Attend project meeting’s, client meetings and senior management meetings when required
  • Process submittals and project approvals
  • Work in compliance with internal OHS policies
  • Other duties which may be assigned by senior management on a project to project basis

 The Construction Estimator must meet the following mandatory requirements:

• 2-4 years of Estimator experience

• Candidate must be experienced in the Construction Industry and able to review plans and specifications to determine material and labor requirements

• 2-3 years of construction industry related experience as a construction estimator
