Adecco is currently recruiting for a Construction Estimator - Senior. This is a full-time permanent role to work with our client located in Gatineau, QC. As a Construction Estimator - Senior, your main responsibility will be to estimate work of projects by gathering proposals, specifications, blueprints and related documents.
The Construction Estimator - Senior will have the following responsibilities:
  • Study plans and specifications;
  • Calculate the quantities of materials, labor and equipment required;
  • Make the necessary phone calls to follow up;
  • Prepare quantity slips and work specifications.
The Construction Estimator - Senior must meet the following mandatory requirements:
  • DEC or DEP degree in Estimate, Engineering or Architecture in the field of construction;
  • Minimum 5 - 7 years’ experience in construction in a similar role;
  • French (read, spoken, written) mandatory;
  • Excellent ability to read blueprints and related specifications;
  • Experience and knowledge of construction costs estimations;
  • Experience and exposure to the construction industry;
  • Knowledge of architecture, construction structure, mechanics, electric and related information within civil engineering;
  • Ability to work independently;
  • Ability to manage and maintain good workload balance;
  • Ability to multitask and meet deadlines accordingly;
  • Must be proactive and ready to learn new things;
  • Proficient use of MS Office (MS Excel, MS Project; Outlook, AutoCAD);
  • Excellent knowledge of PlanSwift, Quoter Plan or any other related estimation software.
