The Construction Safety Coordinator job, based in North Vancouver, British Columbia is a 1 year contract position with our Oil and Gas client. You will have an NCSO designation and a minimum of 5 years of related industrial experience. This is a project based role so you will need to be flexible with scheduling based on the project requirements. Projects will range in size and scope and will be based sustaining capital in nature.

Responsibilities of the Construction Safety Coordinator job include:

- Conducting site orientations with contractors
- Completing work permits for all third parties engaged in work at the site
- Coordination of third party work
- Ensuring contractors are complying with all safety, quality, and environmental policies and procedures
- Conducting incident investigations as required
- Attend contractor daily work meetings ensuring that appropriate Job Hazard Analyses are developed for all tasks performed.
- Ensure appropriate PPE is worn by contract and staff personnel on the job site at all times.
- Ensure contractor incidents are promptly and correctly entered into IMPACT incident tracking system.
- Coordinating project work as assigned by the Project Manager
- Maintain a high regard for personal safety, for the safety of company assets and employees, and the general public.

Qualifications of the Construction Safety Coordinator include:

- 5 or more years of project related Safety experience
- NCSO Certification and High school Diploma required
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong organizational skills
- Ability to attend to detail and work in a time-conscious and time-effective manner
- Work with a wide variety of people with tact, courtesy, and professionalism
- Good computer skills; comfortable with Microsoft suite and Incident tracking systems
