Adecco is currently seeking a Contracts Advisor in Calgary, AB, on behalf of a prominent fuel and petroleum products supplier. This role involves leading the development and management of multi-year strategic construction and service awards, encompassing activities such as RFI, negotiations, contract drafting, and comprehensive contract management. Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development and management of multi-year strategic construction and service awards, including Request for Information (RFI), Expression of Interest (EOI), Request for Proposal (RFP), negotiations, contract drafting, contract kick-off, and post-contract award management processes.

  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand project requirements and objectives, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.

  • Conduct market research and analysis to identify potential suppliers and contractors, evaluating their capabilities, qualifications, and performance history.

  • Prepare and issue RFIs and EOIs to solicit interest and gather information from potential vendors and contractors.

  • Develop comprehensive RFPs, including scope of work, evaluation criteria, terms and conditions, and performance expectations.

  • Lead negotiations with vendors and contractors to secure favorable terms, pricing, and contractual agreements.

  • Draft and finalize contracts in accordance with legal and regulatory requirements, ensuring clarity, accuracy, and compliance with company policies.

  • Facilitate contract kick-off meetings to ensure all parties understand their roles, responsibilities, and expectations.

  • Provide ongoing contract management and oversight, monitoring vendor performance, deliverables, and compliance with contractual obligations.

  • Identify and address any issues or concerns that arise during the contract lifecycle, implementing corrective actions as needed.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline processes, optimize efficiency, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation related to contract management activities, ensuring records are organized and accessible.

  • Stay informed about industry trends, best practices, and regulatory changes related to contract management, incorporating relevant insights into decision-making processes.

Requirements and Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance, Law, or Engineering

  • Advanced Business degree considered an asset

  • SCMP or equivalent procurement/supply chain management designation or certification considered an asset

  • Proficiencies in JDE, Ivalua, SmartSheet, SharePoint

  • 10 years of progressive experience in procurement organizations with a focus on construction (services) contract modeling

  • Proven track record of influencing authority at all levels, including senior management

  • Demonstrated ability to develop and implement complex multi-year supply strategy programs

  • Solid grasp of project management principles

  • Long-term, full lifecycle ownership of ongoing contract and supplier relationship management

  • Solid understanding of Canadian Bid Law

  • Strong Excel, Word, and PowerPoint skills

  • Must be legally eligible to work and reside in Canada

Languages:

  • Full proficiency in English (reading/writing/speaking)

  • Strong asset if proficient in French

  • Strong asset if proficient in Spanish
