Adecco is currently hiring a permanent part-time Controller to work in Ottawa, ON. In this role you will be focused on understanding current processes and completing a forensic analysis of company finances to provide recommendations for implementing best practices and developing internal controls processes. This role requires a university degree in commerce, finance, or business administration with a designation for CPA or CA and minimum 5 years’ experience as a controller.   • Responsibilities:

  • Conducts process improvement analysis in order to identify and establish more efficient processes and ensure necessary controls are in place.
  • Ensure accuracy and compliance to accounting standards, procedures, and internal control.
  • Ensure compliance with CRA & other regulatory requirements and that all relative payments are processed in a timely manner.
  • Oversee the preparation, analysis, and presentation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial results.
  • Oversee the preparation of monthly financial statements including ongoing monthly review (journal entries and reconciliations).
  • Monitor internal controls to ensure that accounting activities are in accordance with established legal regulatory, governance and company policies and procedures.
  • Maintain and improve the accounting processes to drive waste and inefficiencies from the systems including, working with operations to define, measure, analyze, improve and control current processes which impact customer quality and influence internal operating efficiency.
  • Work with the engineering teams to establish, track and report product pricing, costing and margins.
  • Make recommendations for new systems or project selections and implementation from a strategic finance and internal control perspective.
  • Analyze financial documents and reports.
  • Provide training and support to department staff.
  • Qualifications:

  • Must be legally eligible to work, and reside in Canada
  • University degree in commerce, finance, or business administration.
  • CPA or CA designation required.
  • Minimum five years’ experience as a Controller.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office – Excel, Teams, Outlook, PowerPoint and Word required.
  • High level of proficiency with accounting software – Prior experience with Deltek/Ajera would be preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to engage and communication with clarity at all levels of the organization.
  • Knowledge of share ownership plans and management of these plans would be considered an asset.
