Adecco is currently recruiting Line Cooks for a client in Trenton, ON. These are temporary ongoing positions. To qualify for this Line Cook position, you must have open availability to work various shifts and be available to work a combination of part-time and full-time hours as per business needs. Successful candidates will have experience working as a cook in a restaurant or industrial kitchen setting and a passion for providing exceptional service. Line Cook Responsibilities:
- Ensuring ingredients and kitchen supplies maintain required stock levels and documenting supply levels for ordering and inventory purposes
- Store items received from suppliers appropriately and inspect items for quality
- Monitor ingredients for quality and best before dates
- Prepare a variety of meals and dishes including cafeteria-style meals and multi-course meals for formal and/or special events
- Perform food preparation duties such as washing, peeling, and chopping produce
- Using grill tops, fryers, ovens, stovetops, and other major appliances to prepare meals
- Portion and plate dishes to be served to customers
- Test food items for quality and take food temperatures to verify correct temperature
- Adhering to food safety standards and abiding by all safety guidelines in using relevant kitchen tools and equipment
- Maintaining a clean and safe work environment by performing sanitization of work surfaces and equipment and ensuring that all materials and equipment are stored appropriately
Line Cook Qualifications:
- Must have prior experience working as a cook in a restaurant or industrial kitchen setting
- Must be familiar using major appliances such as fryers, grill tops, ovens, and stovetops
- Must have a thorough knowledge of food safety practices and health and safety policies relevant to the hospitality industry
- Must be able to stand/walk for extended periods
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
- Must have excellent time management skills and the ability to work under pressure
- Must be available to work a combination of part-time and full-time hours as required
- Must be available to work various shifts including early morning shifts, afternoon and early evening shifts, and weekend shifts as required
- Must be able to pass a criminal background check if selected
