In this role you'll orchestrate and coordinate the critical efforts for cost estimate preparation, overseeing estimations, and ensuring top-notch quality for company-operated and other builder operator estimates, covering all gate and funding milestones. As the Cost Control Specialist, you'll also craft check Estimates and schedules for meticulous comparison with Operated by Others (OBO) Operator-prepared submittals. Moreover, you'll actively engage in estimate and schedule assessments, diligently verifying project cost and schedule foundations. Your expertise will shine as you participate in the Estimating Group's process efficiency enhancements and champion quality assurance review process improvements.

Key Responsibilities:

•       Conduct quality assurance reviews for estimates at all Gate and Funding milestones.

•       Generate Check Estimates and Schedules for comparison with Operator-prepared submittals.

•       Maintain change control and cost reports.

•       Collaborate with project estimator, planner, scheduler, and Client’s accounting staff.

•       Compile monthly progress reports.

•       Work closely with client’s project manager and team leads for accounting reporting requirements.

•       Assist in analyzing and planning staffing needs for Cost and Schedule Development (C&SD) Estimate / Schedule.

•       Provide input for personnel performance appraisals.

•       Support Area Supervisors with weekly Status Report updates and project status summaries.

•       Promote effective communication, teamwork, and alignment among Cost & Schedule

•       Development personnel.

•       Participate in capital efficiency improvement initiatives.

Key Requirements:

·       Must be legally eligible to work in Canada

·       Minimum ten years of experience in a closely related position within mining and oil & gas projects.

·       Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent professional experience.

·       Strong negotiation and conflict resolution skills.

·       Advanced proficiency in Cost Estimating, Project Planning, and Project Controls.

·       Advanced proficiency with SAP and Primavera software.

·       Strong influencing, consulting, mentoring, analytical, and computing skills.

·       Adaptability to changing priorities.

·       Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

·       Ability to organize, plan, control, coordinate, and effectively manage cross-functional activities.
