Adecco is currently looking to fill numerous Full-Time Damage Prevention Technician positions in the Edmonton area for Oakville Enterprises Corporation (OEC).
The Damage Prevention Technician is required to have a valid driver's license, basic computer skills, experience with Microsoft Office and to be able to lift up to 9kg (20lbs.).

This is a permanent and full-time position on the day shift. The OEC offers a full benefit package plan after 3 months' probation including health & dental and life insurance, defined contribution pension plan and more. The salary for this position is between $17/h & $21/h + benefits.

The Damage Prevention Technician (DPT) is responsible for accurately locating and marking underground utilities in a prescribed area, also referred to as “buried facility”, or “buried plant” and providing a detailed sketch of the located area to the requested of the locate.

OEC represents a family of energy and infrastructure companies that serves municipalities, telecommunications, electrical distribution, and energy infrastructure businesses throughout Canada and beyond.


The responsibilities of the Damage Prevention Technician are:

  • Lead, innovate, commit to excellence; 
  • Using the company provided equipment the Damage Prevention Technician will identify the utility, mark the area and create drawings of the located area and services; 
  • Operate various electronic devices including the use of a receiver wand and transmitter designed to assist in the locating and verifying of underground utilities including gas, phone and fibre optic cables; 
  • Mark utility lines using spray paint or coloured flags; 
  • Prepares various reports and documentation verifying marked utilities; 
  • Work in compliance with all health and safety and environmental legislation including, but not limited to, the Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulations and PVS Contractors Inc.’s Policies and Procedures; 
  • Other duties assigned by supervisor; 

    The required qualifications for the Damage Prevention Technician are:

  • Basic Personal Computer skills and experience with various applications software including Microsoft Office; 
  • Ability to operate and use required tools and equipment skillfully and safely; 
  • Ability to problem solve and exercise good judgment; 
  • Demonstrate behaviour as a motivated individual possessing excellent verbal, interpersonal and written communication skills 
  • Be physically able to do the job which includes walking ditches, walking on uneven surfaces, lifting up to 9kg (20lbs.) and using a shovel 
  • Ability to work in a stressful environment with time-sensitive deliverables 

    The requirement for the Damage Prevention Technician:

  • Valid Class ‘G’ Ontario Driver’s License and an excellent driving record 


  • Salary between $17/h & $21/h
