Adecco is currently hiring for a Data Analyst in Downtown Toronto. The Data Analyst Manager is responsible for assessing, monitoring and managing data licensing costs to ensure that the company is getting the most out of its market data spend. A key deliverable is the creation of a governance process to ingest and manage licensing costs for new data requests received by the team. 

This is a 6-month contract role with the possibility of an extension. 

Data Analyst Responsibilities include the following:

  • Review Bloomberg monthly invoices and verification reports and understand cost allocation and categorization  
  • Research content/cost anomalies in Bloomberg Back Office and Per Security files 
  •  Implement governance process to ingest and prioritize new data requests, while understanding existing Data Licensing terms, to properly manage cost implications
  •  Liaise with Business, IT and Senior Management stakeholders in communicating and resolving issues as they arise
  • Research content/cost anomalies in Bloomberg Back Office and Per Security files
  • Review Bloomberg monthly invoices and verification reports and understand cost allocation and categorization on report cost-saving recommendations and present to Senior Management to support sound departmental decision making
Data Analyst Qualifications
  • College graduate with a university degree in finance, or business management
  • Experience working with Bloomberg data costs savings through either adding/removing Bloomberg Back Office modules and/or changing times of Data License / Back Office requests and/or merging Data License accounts preferred
  • Ability to analyze data within new systems/environments and mine through data and Bloomberg Data Licensing request files
  • Previous experience reading and interpreting Bloomberg verification reports, invoices, and related reports
  • Ability to parse and analyze large volumes of data and clearly summarize and categorize results for Senior Management consumption
  • Previous experience in implementing processes to gate-keep new data requests across various security types
  • Strong interpersonal skills and proven experience dealing with a wide range of Business, IT, and Senior Management stakeholders and tailoring conversations accordingly
  • Persistent and detail oriented
  •  Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Intermediate to Advanced knowledge of Excel (i.e. mastery of excel formulas and pivot tables is a must; VBA is a plus). Advanced SQL skills. Proficient in MS Office suite including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Project
  • Familiarity with the Bloomberg PolarLake application an asset
  •  Liaise with Business, IT and Senior Management stakeholders in communicating and resolving issues as they arise
