Adecco is currently hiring for a Data Analyst -Investment Division on a  contract basis  in Downtown Toronto.  To be considered for this Data Analyst -Investment Division role, you must have experience working with different security types (FI, Equity, Derivatives) and experience in  a Master Data Management platform . This Data Analyst -Investment Division role will see you implementing processes to maintain the data domains managed by the Chief Data Office, Investment Division. Our client is a large, reliable and reputable organization within the Financial Services Industry.

This is a 1 year contract position working with a pay rate of $68.00 per hour.

Data Analyst -Investment Division Responsibilities:

  • Create and implement new processes to support new data management requirements 
  • Draft and maintain procedures for supporting data management function; specifically associated to Portfolios, Funds and Entities 
  • Contribute to the development and execution of the division's data strategy that enables the most effective use of the data assets 
  • Ensure data is available, reliable, consistent, accessible, secure, and timely to support the mission and activities of the division. 
  • Support the successful implementation of the Global Optimization initiatives 
  • Implement data management processes which enable data assets and analytics to significantly contribute to the achievement of the division’s strategic objectives 
  •  Implement processes to continually maintain and improve data quality 
  •  Ensure SLAs for quality and timeliness of data are met 
  • Participate in the rationalization of data management activities across the division globally 
  •  Execute processes to decrease the cost of acquiring/managing data and increasing the value of the data; keep the costs of data management within reasonable limits 
  • Execute processes to manage division relevant data procurement and licensing in collaboration with the Global Procurement Office 
  • Document and keep existing documentation up to date for the procedures and processes under responsibility. 
  • Identify and propose process improvements. 
  • Identify and report weaknesses, and apply financial and operational controls to mitigate risks. Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies. 
  • Participate in testing investment systems upgrades and releases as well as process changes, as required. 
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge, in particular on investment related business. 
  • Participate in projects, as required. 
  • Back up and cross-train with team members, as required
Data Analyst -Investment Division Qualifications:
  • University degree in accounting or finance.
  • At leat 2 years of investment operations experience 
  • Understanding of various investments instruments such as bonds, stocks, short terms, derivatives etc
  • Thorough knowledge and experience in information systems and in particular of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word)
  • Experience with SQL, Python, VBA a plus
  • ???????Strong understanding of processes associated to onboarding new portfolios or funds
  • Experience working with different security types (FI, Equity, Derivatives)
  • ???????Working experience with a Master Data Management platform a plus
  • ???????Must have good project and time management skills.
  • Strong numerate accuracy and analytical skills.
  • Aptitude to work independently and also collaboratively as team player. 
  • Excellent communication skills and expertise in maintaining professional relationships with all contacts both internal and external.
