Adecco is currently hiring a temporary full-time Data Analyst in Toronto, ON. In this role you will assist in the planning and conducting of statistical collection and analysis activities in support of various educational programs and policy initiatives related to provincial large-scale assessments in Ontario's elementary and secondary school education system. To design and develop systems for collecting, validating, maintaining, processing, evaluating, and reporting data in support of large-scale assessments. To collect, analyze, summarize, and disseminate relevant data on educational topics for use by internal staff, agency and ministry stakeholders, and educational institutions.
Pay rate: $40.00 - $50.00 / hour depending on experience
Location: Toronto, ON (remote position)
Shifts: Monday to Friday |7.25hours per day and 36.25hours per week

Responsibilities:
Data Management:
Plans, coordinates and provides data management support and technical advice to EQAO regarding the processing and analysis of large-scale assessment data.
Develops processes to ensure data quality (e.g., integrity, accuracy, and completeness).
Designs guidelines and protocols to facilitate the data lifecycle processes; sharing these developments with relevant staff.
Participates in the development, monitoring and enforcement of protocols to maintain EQAO data and information for data sharing and to ensure data integrity.
Data Analysis:
Leads and coordinates the statistical analysis of data to assess quality and meaning of data, and identify and interpret trends and patterns .
Contributes to agency planning, evaluation and reporting projects by providing statistical, analytical, forecasting and modeling expertise to student learning and achievement trends and projections.
Verifies identified solutions have been accurately applied and reflect specifications and requirements; defines data needs to reflect EQAO's information requirements to meet its business and policy needs.
Coordinates and ensures data security and confidentiality for assigned projects.
Identifies, recommends, and implements improvements to data processing and analysis systems.
Stakeholder Relations, Advice and Support:
Develops and maintains contacts with key internal and external stakeholders groups to enable consultation and collaboration on research and analysis endeavours and to provide/exchange research data and results.
Provides support to internal working groups involved in data analysis and reporting, and participates in, and/or leads EQAO stakeholder consultation processes.
Receives, processes, and distributes data requests from internal and external stakeholders.
Requirements and Qualifications:
Must be legally eligible to work, and reside in Canada
Knowledge of and skills in:
Theory, principles and concepts of data structures, database design and information retrieval, data architecture, and programming languages (e.g.,
SQL, R) to coordinate data management and analysis-related projects/tasks/activities.
Theory, principles and methodologies of statistical analysis and research, quality assurance methodologies, techniques and practices to produce and
contribute to reports, and to assess and present data models and analyses of student achievement trends and issues and their impacts on education in
Ontario.
Research and statistical analysis principles and techniques, including multivariate inferential statistics (i.e. hierarchical linear modelling, data reduction
techniques), to conduct research projects and qualitative/quantitative analysis.
Analytics tools and technology, statistical modelling and forecasting-specific software (e.g. SPSS, SAS, R) which involves writing programming code to
produce reports to research and prepare own analysis.
Information management practice and processes, data warehousing and use of business intelligence (BI) tools, data retrieval and analysis
systems techniques to manage and conduct in-depth analyses, to develop reports and provide guidance and statistical advice.
Project management to plan and coordinate the design, development and implementation of systems, databases, and procedures of large-scale
assessments.
Oral and written communications to provide information, prepare reports and briefing materials, and to communicate complex data/information and
advice to senior management and/or other internal/external stakeholders in a user-friendly fashion.
Presentation skills to disseminate technical, research, and other reports.
