Debug Engineer

Our Manufacturing client in Kanata is currently looking for Debug Technician / Engineer. The role of the Debug Engineer will work with the R&D development teams to ensure product quality and provide technical expertise to lead the organization in process development and implementation of manufacturing processes printed circuit board assemblies (PCBA’s) to improve production cost, efficiencies, yields and quality.

 

 Debug Engineer Job Duties:

  • Provide debug support for optical modems at the PCBA level, optical level and fully assembled modules at system/performance
  • Provide input to design teams to improve design for production
  • Establish robust, repeatable and reproducible process parameters and process controls
  • Create/investigate alternative solutions to meet the producibility requirements
  • Transitioning Design into Contract Manufacturer (CM)
  • Develop process/tools to support product into production
  • Analysis of product performance to ensure volume supply can meet business objectives
  • Provide support to CM to address product/quality and delivery issues
  • Support sustaining activities for product in production regarding DFM, Yield & Cost improvement
  • Debug Engineer Requirements:

  • Bachelor/Master degree in Electrical/Mechanical/Production Engineering or equivalent
  • Optical fiber fusion splicing an asset
  • Minimum 2-5 years of debug engineering experience
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Strong troubleshooting, analytical and problem solving skills
  • Able to provide feedback to team members in a clear and constructive manner
  • Work with cross functional teams and CM’s around the world to support completing NPI tasks
  • Ability manage multiple projects at the same time
  • Experience with Agile and Oracle an asset
  •
