Adecco is currently hiring for an experienced Debug Technologist for our client in Ottawa West (Kanata). This is a full time opportunity offering hours Monday to Friday from 8am to 4pm or 12pm to 8pm. This is a contract opportunity to start with the potential to turn permanent based on performance and business needs. Hourly rate of pay to be determined based on experience.

We are searching for an experienced Debug Technologist to provide repair and debug solutions using a wide variety of techniques. We offer a close-knit working team and initiatives to help you meet your career objectives. 

Debug Technologist Responsibilities: 

The successful candidate will perform debug on various types of telecommunication/electronics equipment with or without documentation and schematics.

Duties will include:

-    Trouble shooting, debug and repair of sub-standard assemblies with limited documentation from the system level down to the individual card and component level.
-    Advanced knowledge of debugging to the chip level, preferably from the following OEM’s:
-    Nortel
-    Nokia / Siemens / Alcatel / Lucent
-    Tellabs
-    Ericsson

-    Ability to create schematics from the PCB and datasheets to enable bench test procedures
-    Knowledge of JTAG and BDM (Background Debug Mode interface for embedded systems) and how it applies to logic circuits for programming and debugging an asset
-    Working knowledge of optical, analog and digital electronics, microprocessors, controllers, CPLDs, FPGAs and its implementation.
-    Working knowledge and function of various related test equipment (oscilloscope, logic analyzer, signal generators, pattern generators)

Debug Technologist Qualifications:

-    Electronic Technician, Technologist Diploma or Equivalent Years’ Experience in the Electronics Repair Field.
-    Three years relevant work experience with electronic assembly and design exposure within the telecom or defense industry. 
-    Ability to interpret schematic drawings and production documents.
-    Contribute to the development of process and procedural documents
-    Ability to relate well with others in a team-based environment and provide knowledge transfer when required
-    Ability to prioritize and complete work in fast paced quick turn environment
-    Ability to listen and communicate issues and thoughts with engineering and peers 
-    Health and Safety conscious 
-    Autonomous self-starter
