Development Accountant l $70K+ - $80K+/ Vancouver, BC / Permanent

Adecco has partnered with a growing and well-established real estate development and investment firm to seek for a Development Accountant to join their downtown office.
This position has ample of room for growth and the opportunity to work for a savvy and entrepreneurial team.

Responsibilities:


Responsible for project entity accounting and financial reporting;
Ensure accuracy of forecast updates in the accounting system;
Complete monthly G/L and financial statement review;
Prepare and enter monthly and year-end journal entries and adjustments including accruals, sales, cost of sales, and land closings;
Review invoices and ensure they are coded and paid in a timely manner;
Coordinate and obtain documents to meet pre-funding conditions for finance and land closings;
Review, update, and maintain project control report ensuring accuracy and completeness of information recorded;
Prepare cost allocations for multi-phase and master plan developments;
Assist with procurement of project insurance;
Compose letters, memoranda and other reports as requested;
Review and record income and expenses provided by external property management company into internal financial statements;
Prepare reports and liaise with external parties including lawyers and consultants;
Assist with identification and implementation of system and process improvements;
Assist with training intermediate and junior accountant;
Assist Assistant Controller and Assistant Director of Finance in preparation of reports to owner, CEO, and external parties;
Prepare other monthly and annual reports and projects as assigned by the Assistant Controller.


Requirements:

Minimum of two years’ experience in real estate preferred;
Accounting degree preferred, completion of CPA program;
Effective communication skills (verbal and written);
Ability to prioritize and multi-task, self-motivated and detail oriented;
Experience with Timberline a plus or other real estate accounting software; and
Knowledge of MS Office Suite of products including proficiency in Excel and Word.
