Job Summary:

Our client is searching for an experienced Director of Sales with a book of business to help grow our Toronto office in Mississauga, ON near the Toronto-Pearson Airport. This is a unique startup opportunity that will provide our next Director of Sales the chance to help grow a small business into a flourishing branch in a wide-open CRM environment.

 

Director of Sales Responsibilities:

  • Prospecting: Identify and generate new leads by researching businesses throughout the US and Canada with high shipment volume, multiple locations and/or technology integration needs  
  • Discovery: Conduct cold calls in order to discover more about the prospect, where Our client fits in with their overall logistics strategy, and their business needs i.e. determining volume needs, credit terms, assets ownership, growth goals, product lines, etc.  
  • Demonstration: Present value propositions and sales meetings via in person, phone, or web that address qualifying prospect needs, establishes Our client’s role in achieving their logistics goals, and contains a tailored, personalized sales pitch 
  • Bidding & Onboarding: Working with Branch Director to submit appropriate details for bidding. Manage business implementation and pricing strategy by working closely with operational staff and Branch Director to secure EDI connectivity, online billing, credit terms, etc.  
  • Closing: Establish customer timeline for completing deal. Ensure signing process is painless and straightforward to ensure customer satisfaction 
  • Conduct Pre-Sale Activities: Prepare action plans, customize presentations, perform pre-call research and analysis  
  • Relationship Building: Develop and maintain strong relationships with senior level executives with target accounts in order to understand prospect business needs. Increase volume with existing customers.   
  • Forecasting: Predict trends by identifying, analyzing, and applying company, industry, and competitor knowledge to better serve existing clients, strengthen client prospecting strategy, increase logistics solution effectiveness 
  • Reporting: Record all research, progress, and results in CRM. Conduct weekly/ monthly progress reports with management and President of Sales

    Our ideal candidate will have:

  • Existing book of business
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.2+ years of freight brokerage experience preferred 
  • 5+ of B2B sales in transportation, brokerage or a similar technical industry REQUIRED  
  • 8-10+ years of industry experience 
  • Experience using CRM  
  • Proficiency with MS Office suite and other software applications 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills 
  • Strong presentation skills over the phone, through written communication, and in person 
  • Ability to set and manage multiple priorities 
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment  
  • Ability to communicate with and persuade C-Level professionals 
  • Strong analytical skills
