Disability Benefits Analyst

Our client in Markham, ON is looking for a disability analyst to join their team. The Disability Benefits Analyst administers the disability, accommodation, workers compensation and maternity/parental programs for Canada. Acting as a liaison between insurance carriers/workers compensation boards/third party providers, the business (management and HR) and employees, the Disability Benefits Analyst will ensure the absence, accommodation and return to work processes are followed in a consistent, timely manner.

Disability Benefits Analyst Responsibilities:

-Disability Case Management  
-Liaise with business from initial awareness of illness/absence until employee returns to full regular work
-Contact employee regularly and provide updates to supervisor/management
-Maintain confidential disability files within Salesforce case management system
-Create and update reports to monitor absences and return to work
-Notify One Source and Payroll of absence details
-Short Term and Long Term Disability Management 
-Workers Compensation 
-Accommodation Claims
-Maternity and Parental Leaves
-Monitor Legal Files

Disability Benefits Analyst Qualifications:

-Previous Human Resources experience required
-Human Resource Certification/Employee Benefits certification preferred
-Excellent communication skills – verbal and written
-Proficient computer skills i.e. Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
-Experience with Salesforce, Oracle HR, Darwin an asset
-Strong level of confidentiality
-Highly organized, pro-active, detail oriented and professional
-Strong interpersonal skills, excellent team player
-Ability to multi-task/adapt in a fast-paced environment
-Flexibility to accommodate employees in different time zones as required
