Adecco is currently hiring for a temporary to permanent, full-time Dispatcher to work for our reputable client in Calgary, AB. The primary responsibility of this role is to dispatch units to pick up and deliver freight, monitor the performance of drivers, and ensure customer timelines are adhered to.   • Pay Rate: $23-$25/hour
  • Location: NE Calgary, AB
  • Job type: Full-time | Temporary to Permanent
  • Shifts: Monday-Friday | 9:30 am – 5 pm

    • Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Arrange for daily deliveries, assign pick-up requests, and enter orders in the computer
  • Set up appointment freight, manifest shipments, coordinate ETA's with Central, check for expedited shipments, and enter missed pick-ups
  • Answer phones and take pick-up requests
  • Perform a dock and yard check to ensure freight is not missed and trucks are on schedule
  • Coordinate drivers to come back for the second round of deliveries, manifest skeleton, and make linehaul orders
  • Coordinate local P&D requirements
  • Track lumper’s hours and review requirements
  • Monitor driver performance and report findings to the manager
  • Identify areas for improvement and efficiencies
  • Perform other related duties as may be required

    •  Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Minimum of secondary education, with a preference for post-secondary education (Supply Chain or Logistics Management, or a combination of education and experience
  • Previous Transportation or operational experience is preferred, various roles within transportation would be beneficial. New graduates or current students are welcome
  • Should have strong computer skills, mainly in Microsoft Office Suite, AS400 and web-based programs
  • Able to work a flexible work schedule
  • Must be legally eligible to work, and reside in Canada
