Adecco is currently hiring for a temporary, full-time Dispatcher in Mississauga, ON to work for our client, a leader in autonomous middle mile logistics, who delivers goods safely and efficiently using its fleet of light & medium duty trucks. In this role, you will act as a central point of contact for emergency and non-emergency communication and reporting, as well as helping to ensure the timely delivery of customer orders. The ideal candidate will calmly handle both emergency and nonon-emergency situations with a solution-oriented approach and communicate professionally with the staff and client personnel to ensure seamless operations.   • Pay rate: $21/hour

  • Shifts: Monday to Friday | 8AM - 4:30PM

  • Responsibilities:

  • Receive emergency and non-emergency instant messages or calls
  • Request, research, review, record and share significant information as required
  • Address problems and requests by transmitting information or providing solutions
  • Receive and dispatch orders and updates to ensure deliveries are flowing smoothly
  • Prioritize tasks according to urgency and importance
  • Monitor the status of drivers and deliveries to coordinate and prioritize their schedule
  • Provide drivers and clients with information about updates and completed tasks
  • Enter data in computer system and maintain logs and records of interactions, activities and other information
  • Dispatch personnel according to written schedules and work orders, or as required by emergency situations
  • Maintain contact with drivers throughout their shifts and address any routing issues they might have
  • Update customers on the status of their deliveries including any delays that occur
  • Maintain vehicle operator work records using computerized or manual methods and ensure time-sheets and payroll summaries are completed accurately
  • Other duties as requested
  • Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as dispatcher or another relevant position
  • Tech-savvy with knowledge of instant messaging and order management systems
  • Fast typing with experience in data entry and knowledge of procedures and guideline for emergency situations
  • Proficient in English (oral and written)
  • Outstanding organizational and multitasking abilities
  • Active listener with excellent communication skills and sound judgement and critical thinking
  • Must be legally eligible to work in Canada
