Adecco’s client located in Ottawa-West is currently searching for a Schools Dispatcher to join its team.  Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Schools Dispatcher will be responsible for receiving and transmitting clear and reliable messages, tracking vehicles and equipment and recording other important information. This role also includes providing a high degree of customer service in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will have three to five years of dispatching experience and a Class B driver’s licence or the ability to upgrade drivers licence.  

This is a contract leading to permanent opportunity offering full-time hours and a pay-rate of $17 per hour. 

Duties of a Schools Dispatcher Include:

  • Take responsibility for the Emergency Response Plan in the event of a serious collision
  • Contacts all drivers via radio/email with route/student changes
  • Alerts drivers to road closures or delays
  • Identifies all runs and drivers are active on routes on time to ensure no students are left behind or missed
  • Manages, updates and pulls reports from Zonar and Fleet Complete Software, EasyBus and Edutraker
  • Manages and updates student, driver and Asset maintenance in Velocity
  • Manages and assists garage with scheduling vehicle maintenances
  • Manages and assists supervisors with student portal information updates for driver’s routes
  • Answers telephones, faxes, and Voyago emails
  • Assigns drivers for Charter Trips
  • Occasionally required to cover school routes


Requirements Include:

  • Post-Secondary or Equivalent
  • 3 to 5 years of dispatching experience
  • Full G Driver’s Licence
  • Clean CRS
  • Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in logistics or transportation is preferred
