Adecco is currently seeking an experienced Early Childhood Educator to join a learning centre/daycare for a full-time position in Gold River, BC. This is a full-time position — the successful candidate will have a Valid Early Childhood Education degree/certificate (3 years’ education completed).

The Early Childhood Educator will report to the Education Manager and will be responsible for providing a nurturing and age-appropriate education program for children within the centre.

Duties and Responsibilities:        

  • Creating an atmosphere which is caring, stimulating and fun for children.
  • Organizing space, equipment, and materials to create an environment which encourages the children's exploration.
  • Observing and assessing developmental level of children and encouraging each child's efforts by providing meaningful commentary, by displaying work, etc.
  • Ensuring that all actions and activities meet the Child Care Early Years Act regulations.
  • Maintaining application of Health and Safety Standards.
  • Supporting projects and curriculum-based activities under the leadership of the classroom Early Childhood Educator/Supervisor.
  • Ensuring the activities required for project-based emergent curriculum are documented, maintained, and utilized when planning activities for the children in your group.
  • Preparing, maintaining, and supervising classroom and playground activities.
  • Collaborating with Resource Consultants concerning implementation, set up of programs and activities for children with special needs.
  • Advising the manager of pertinent information concerning children and their families.
  • Supervising field trips and community outings as required.
  • Preparing and handling food according to standardized recipes to ensure food quality, safety, and quantity as required.
  • Supervising other junior staff and Early Childhood Educator Assistants.
  • Performing housekeeping duties, as required.
  • Performing other related duties as assigned by Education Manager.
  • EDUCATION, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Valid Early Childhood Education degree/certificate (3 years’ education completed)
  • CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:

  • Standard First Aid or Child Safe Certification
  • Vulnerable Sector Check
  • Mandatory proof of COVID vaccination
  • Valid class 5 Driving license
  • Must have access to a vehicle for transportation
  • Must be legally eligible to work, and reside in Canada
