Our client in Markham, ON is looking for an eCommerce Business Development Manager to join their team.  This role is responsible for developing & executing sales strategies for direct-to-consumer B2C eCommerce sales, complimenting more traditional brick & mortar and B2B retail sales channels.  This role is responsible to manage, develop, and grow relationships with key e-commerce retailers by delivering a premium on-line sales experience to drive product sales. 

eCommerce Business Development Manager Responsibilities:

  • Maintain/Develop & implement a strong eCommerce web platform either on own or if needed by engaging third party website providers for system changes/maintenance/initiatives
  • Manage the website and channel system including managing product assortment, pricing, reviews, promotions etc.
  • Work with the Product Manager and others to develop short and long-term strategies and plans (product, promotion & offers) to maximize eCommerce sales
  • Increase the share of ecommerce sales within overall company sales (without detracting from traditional sales channels)
  • Identify and develop new business opportunities and business relationships to expand revenue profitability and sales
  • Work to align sales efforts with all related groups (sales, finance, supply chain, and especially customer service for website processing of order and inquiries)Marketing
  • Works with eComm Marketing for social media content calendar and works with agency/in house coordinator to ensure appropriate content is posted regularly
  • Work with Marketing to generate creative and unique promotions and offers for eCommerce opportunities based on market research Data Analytics
  • Reviews data providing analytics for sales insights and make recommendations for sales opportunities
  • Develop monthly sales forecasts working with others
  • Manage annual eCommerce sales and profitability plans and monitor results for the eCommerce channel

    eCommerce Business Development Manager Qualifications:

     

  • Post- secondary education in business or marketing or related studies
  • Strong overall business acumen and understanding of interdependencies and product commercialization on web platforms
  • Experience managing an eCommerce business or channel platform for several years with a progressively larger book of business/accounts/revenue; specifically
  • 2-3 years direct experience handling complex Amazon account
  • Familiar with Buy Box & other sales tools
  • Experience with eCommerce or B2C sales, strategy & planning, product management
  • Thorough understanding of product and promotion cycle
  • Experience understanding changing marketing strategies of competition including market research
  • Strong analytical skills for analysis and forecasting
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail for detailed website contents
  • Strong planning skills to manage multiple competing tasks
  • Well developed communication & interpersonal skills to build internal and external relationships
  • Self-motivated, able to work independently with sense of urgency to meet deadlines
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively in a multi-disciplinary team environment.
