Our client Arcelor Mittal Hamilton East has asked us to recruit for Electricians on their behalf. These are FULL TIME, PERMANENT roles. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years related experience and will be responsible for the following:
Responsibilities:
Receives written or verbal instructions relative to job assignment. Reads blueprints, diagrams and schematic drawings to determine work procedures. Inspects equipment for defects such as misalignment, wear, insufficient lubrication and takes appropriate action to correct condition. Dismantles, repairs, installs, maintains, assembles, modifies and lubricates electrical equipment. Checks and makes repairs to hydraulic controls and motors. Operates machine tools such as drill press, pipe threading machine, power saw etc. Changes, sets up, and adjusts equipment as required by operating conditions. Operates and maintains controls and thermocouples on gas generating and drying equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation. Inspects and repairs combustion, thermocouples and recorders in the field and/or shop. Tests atmosphere to meet confined space entry. Operates and maintains acid/chemical receiving system controls and probes. Takes designated action in the event of indicated sprinkler failure. Takes designated action in the event of a (CO2) fire system discharge. Maintain and record results of all probes flow meters and controls for the Rotary Vacuum Filter and Clarifier system to the ISO standard. Maintain and record results of all probes, flow meters and controls for the MGO room and Lagoon House to the ISO standard. Maintain and record results to all probes, sonars and controls for the cleaning line to the ISO standard. Enter PLC changes. Tools and Equipment Drill press, hammers, grinder, power saw, bending, threading and cutoff machines, portable power tools, small hand tools, safety devices, oscilloscopes, miscellaneous electrical testing equipment, lubricating equipment, thermometers, soldering equipment, mobile equipment, CO2 analyzer, optical pyrometer, MSA explosion meter, carbon monoxide detector. Material A/C and D/C equipment such as motors, generators, controls, switches, circuit breakers, control panels, lighting circuits, electronic devices, wire tape, insulation, repair parts, etc. Works with repair crews as directed on emergency breakdowns. Keeps immediate working area in a clean and orderly condition. Observes all safety regulations for the safe performance of his duties. Determines best way of making repairs to minimize production delays. equipment in a major producing unit. Performs special investigatory and experimental work on electrical equipment and controls. Analyzes electrical and related problems. Fabricates various components with or without prints.

HOURLY WAGE: $34.50/ HOUR Plus Shift Premiums and Excellent Benefits and Pension
