Adecco is currently recruiting for an Electrician for a permanent opportunity with our client in St. Catharines, ON. This residential electrician position will be based in the Niagara Region. The electrician will possess a genuine passion for interacting with and serving customers and enjoy working at different locations every day. Customer service must be a value to the successful candidate. You must possess extensive experience in residential applications and knowledge of ideal products and processes to achieve the optimal outcome for the customer.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Meet directly with customers, providing on-site solutions, flat rate quotations and immediate service
  • Educate customers on proposed electrical work and safety hazards
  • Receive payment on-site electronically
  • Work type includes but is not limited to knob & tube removal, home rewiring, panel changes, fixture installation, generator installation, etc.
  • Understand job requirements and ensure materials and required staff assistance are ordered in a timely fashion
  • Participate in rotating on-call schedule for after-hour emergency calls
  • Complete work within expected timelines
  • Complete work per ESA code
  • Complete assigned work as directed
  • Required Experience/Knowledge:

  • Completion of electrician apprenticeship
  • Must be registered with the Ontario College of Trades
  • High school diploma
  • Must possess current 309A Construction-Maintenance Electrician license
  • Valid driver's license – must be able to provide a clean drivers’ abstract
  • Proven experience as an electrician in residential environments
  • Thorough knowledge of safety procedures and legal regulations and guidelines
  • Capable of lifting and carrying a minimum of 50 pounds without assistance
  • Preferred Certifications:

  • Basic First Aid/CPR Certificate
  • Working at Heights Certificate
  • Skills/Abilities:

  • In compliance with governing bodies
  • Comfortable interacting with people and working in homes
  • Able to work within a schedule-driven environment, with the ability to meet deadlines and manage work tasks efficiently
  • Able to quickly learn software programs
  • Able to work independently to diagnose and solve problems
  • Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving ability
  • Excellent physical condition and flexibility to work efficiently and whenever needed
