Adecco is currently hiring a temporary full-time Electronics Assembly Technician for our client in Ottawa, ON. Our client serves over 1500 active customers in the industrial automation, medical imaging, and security and defense markets. This role requires 1-2 years’ experience as an electronic technician with sound knowledge PCA & PCB manufacturing processes.

  • Responsibilities:

  • Provide excellent customer service and support customers/end-users
  • Interact with end-users/customers over the phone to provide and process information in response to inquiries, concerns, and requests about the products and services
  • Conduct product hardware testing on all systems and their functionality
  • Conduct Quality Assurance checks on the products to ensure all systems are sent out with the proper state legislated programs and appropriate hardware
  • Accurately document any issues and fixes that occur during the Quality Control process
  • Gather and document customers’ information and troubleshoot their product / system issues by evaluating and analyzing the symptoms
  • Liaise between the engineering and sales team to ensure they have the most up-to-date information on product issues and customer inquiries
  • Success in conducting root cause analysis, providing sound recommendations, and taking corrective action to resolve manufacturing and/or customer issues
  • Proven ability to:
    o Interpret PCB layout designs, mechanical drawings, and use PCB and mechanical design tools (e.g. PADS, P-CAD & Gerber/ODB++ Viewers)
    o Understand a wide range of electronic and mechanical specifications to allow for selection of appropriate components
  • Successful track record developing and implementing processes in a circuit card and PCB manufacturing environment
  • Experience interfacing with contract manufacturers
  • Understanding of and ability to work with ERP systems, documentation control applications, Excel, SharePoint
  • Understanding of basic electric circuits
  • Experience and understanding of soldering
  • Impeccable and professional communication skills to ensure customer interaction
  • Effective English communication skills, both written and
  • Requirements:

  • An academic background in Mechanical/ Electronic Engineering or relevant field/ experience
  • 1-2 years’ experience as an Electronic Technician
  • Experience conducting manual hardware testing
  • Be able to develop and deliver high quality documentation with a strong attention to detail
  • Possess awareness of standards applied to the manufacture of electronic equipment and assemblies, including CE/FCC, REACH, RoHS, IPC, and Conflict Mineral reporting
  • Hold sound knowledge of PCA & PCB manufacturing processes
  • Must be legally eligible to work, and reside in Canada
