Adecco is currently recruiting for a full-time Emergency Services Technician to work a long-term contract at a well-established energy company majoring in the production of synthetic crude from oil sands, in Fort McMurray, AB. In this role you will be responsible for providing support to the Production Emergency Services division.

  • Emergency Services Technician Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and Service gas detection equipment
  • Instruct gas detection equipment training for operations and maintenance workforce
  • Conduct annual audits on SCBA equipment located within the upgrader
  • Conduct monthly audits on gas detection equipment (30+ locations)
  • Conduct daily change outs of portable area gas detection equipment
  • Maintain and service fire extinguishers
  • Manage loan out process of SCBA and gas detection equipment
  • Emergency Services Technician Requirements and Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent GED is required
  • A minimum of 0-1 years of experience in a related field is a must
  • Maintenance experience with SCBA and portable gas detection equipment is an asset
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite programs is needed
  • Course instruction or public speaking experience is an asset
  • Should have a class 5 driver’s license
  • Able to fluently speak in public, and provide instruction in a group setting
  • Able to work in team environment and lift up to 50lbs
  • Should be mechanically inclined
  • Must be legally eligible to work and reside in Canada
