Adecco is currently recruiting for a permanent, full-time Facilities and Maintenance Director, to work for our reputable client, located in Calgary, AB. In this role, you will be responsible for planning and directing the construction, renovation, restoration and maintenance of buildings, grounds, vehicles and equipment, while overseeing operations of mechanical/midway maintenance, carpentry and paint shops.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Coordinates staff to ensure that grounds and buildings are well maintained
Attends the hiring process of employees and employee performance evaluations
Collaborates with other senior management teams to ensure the day-to-day activities and special events are supported
Oversees work assignments to ensure that the work is completed within prescribed time frames and funding parameters
Reviews proposals and/or plans to determine project schedules, and funding and staffing requirements
Manages ongoing service contracts and the tendering of new work to external contractors while monitoring the work of current contractors to ensure they are adhering to the set terms in their contracts
Works with Emergency Operations Centre to conduct annualized emergency preparedness tests
Prepares and oversees the department's annual operating and capital budgets
Ensures safe work practices are followed and safety legislation and other legal and/or regulatory requirements are adhered to while planning and implementing all department activities
Performs other duties as assigned
Qualifications and Requirements:
Post-secondary education in Mechanical Engineering with a P. Eng. designation are needed
Registration with APEGA is an asset
Experience with various mechanical equipment is a must
Up to 10 years of progressive experience directing staff and contractors in the construction or project/property management field is a must
Able to sign off on engineering designs
Strong project management experience including an understanding of contracts, building codes, and tendering processes is essential
Must be knowledgeable of Alberta Pressure Equipment Safety Legislation and ABSA requirements.
Should be proficient at technical writing and the preparation of engineering work packages
A valid First Aid Certificate and Alberta Class 5 Operator’s License are mandatory
Must be legally eligible to work and reside in Canada
