Responsibilities:
  • Manage all financial operations, including budget development, financial reporting, and analysis.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards, policies, and regulatory requirements.
  • Oversee the preparation of departmental and operational budgets, providing timely variance analysis and reporting.
  • Monitor financial trends, risks, and resources to identify opportunities for financial improvement and risk mitigation.
  • Coordinate and manage foundation and government grant applications, ensuring compliance with grant requirements and reporting.
  • Provide financial guidance and support to senior leadership and the Board of Directors, including presentations of financial data and analysis.
  • Utilize advanced skills in QuickBooks Online, Plooto, Dext, and KNIT payroll software for accurate financial record keeping and reporting.
  • Foster a collaborative and inclusive work environment, supporting staff development through coaching and mentoring.
  • Demonstrate a deep commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion in all financial practices and decision-making processes.
Requirements:
  • Must be legally eligible to work and reside in Canada.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business or accounting.
  • 5+ years of experience in financial management within a non-profit organization.
  • Proficiency in financial record keeping, reporting, and analysis.
  • Skilled in budget preparation and variance analysis.
  • Experience managing foundation and government grants.
  • Strong interpersonal skills for staff coaching and mentoring.
  • Commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion initiatives.
  • Advanced proficiency in QuickBooks Online, Plooto, Dext, and KNIT payroll software.
