Are you a talented Forester? Adecco is currently seeking a permanent, full-time Forester to work at our reputable client in Gold River, BC. In this role, you will lead and coordinate a number of landscape-level resource management projects. The Forester will also work with the Lands Manager to develop and manage the archaeology program.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Supervise and manage field staff surveying forests for archaeological features.
Engaging with the industry in capacity building relationships.
Provide support and strategic direction for land use planning, wildlife conservation, and natural resource management across the territory.
Develop and manage the Archeology program in collaboration with the Lands Manager.
Develop the Nations Forest Management Programs and internal capacity to undertake inventory, engineering, and CMT surveys, restoration and silviculture projects.
Manage data flow from fieldwork to data entry technician to draft report development stage.
Maintain a close working relationship with the Nations Registered Consulting Archaeologists.
Participate in training programs to comply with any fund or safety requirements.
Perform other duties as required from time to time.
Requirements and Qualifications:
BSC with 5 years or MSc with 2 years of coastal forestry experience is required
Registered Professional Forester (RPF) or eligible for RPF designation in British Columbia is a must
Should have safety training assets including Small Vessel Operators Proficiency, Wilderness First Aid, Helicopter Safety and Bear Aware
A valid Driver's license is also required
Able to work independently without supervision and in a team environment where mutual support is essential
Must have the enthusiasm and the ability to work safely in remote environments under poor weather conditions
Experience working with Land Use Planning is needed
Experience with coastal temperate rainforest issues (conservation of Old Growth, UWR’s, WTRA’s and alternative logging measures) is appreciated
GIS Skills and Asset are a must
Familiar with BC FRPA regulations and Heritage Conservation Act requirements for archaeological assessments
Must be local to Gold River or willing to relocate
Must be legally eligible to work, and reside in Canada
