Our client located in the South-East end of Ottawa is currently hiring a certified Forklift Driver to start immediately. This position is a long-term contract that can lead to a full time opportunity. The position is Monday to Friday 6am to 2pm. The rate of pay is $18/hr.

The perfect candidate for this position will have a minimum of 2 years' forklift experience in a warehouse setting, Steel toed safety shoes and must be able to qualify for a reliability Clearance. **To Qualify for reliability clearance, you must have a clean criminal background and must reside in Canada for minimum 5 years to qualify for clearance). They are looking for reliable, hard-working individuals who possess the following skills and abilities -

Forklift Driver Job Tasks include:

•    Handle inbound/outbound loads, perform cycle counts, product put away, and replenishment of stock locations
•    Operate lifting devices such as a reach truck, cherry picker order, counter balance, dock loader and double walkie
•    Perform general warehouse functions such as: picking, packing, shipping, and receiving

•    Perform work in accordance with account specific Standard Operating Procedures
•    Develop and maintain positive relationships with internal and external customers and colleagues
•    Work in a safe manner and adhere to all Company policies and procedures as well as Health and Safety Regulations
•    Maintain an organized and clean environment
•    Ability to perform repetitive tasks that may require light to moderately heavy lifting. Up to 50lbs throughout shift
•    Operate pump truck throughout shift
•    Perform other general warehousing duties as assigned by Management

Forklift Driver Job Specification/Requirements:

•    Warehouse experience within a fast-paced, high volume logistics environment
•    Minimum 2 years forklift experience with valid forklift certification and must provide 2 work related references to verify experience operating a forklift.
•    Familiarity with Radio Frequency (RF) Equipment
•    High School or equivalent education
•    Ability to perform repetitive tasks that require heavy lifting (up to 50 lbs.)
•    Safety oriented Team player with excellent interpersonal and communication skills
•    Strong organizational skills with the ability to balance multiple priorities
•    High accuracy and attention to detail
•    Dedicated to providing superior customer service
•    Positive attitude, high energy, self-motivated individual who demonstrates flexibility and adaptability
•    High school education 
•    Clean criminal Background
