Adecco is currently hiring full time temporary General Labour for a Cannabis client in Port Perry, ON, 40 mins West of Lindsay, ON.

You will be responsible for assisting in Grow operations to ensure they meet production targets and quality standards. This position, reporting to the Lead Grow Technician, will be assisting with our harvest period for our large-scale outdoor cannabis production.

The pay rate for this position is $16.60 per hour.

    Full time - Monday to Friday

  • Night shift: 11:00 pm to 6:30 am (pay rate is $16.60/hr)
  • General Labour Responsibilities:

  • Shuck and trim cannabis plants at harvest time, as required
  • Perform de-stemming and monitor for plant issues including rot
  • Transport plants from harvest bins into drying buildings
  • Assist with the drying process
  • Detect, report, and control all plant health and pest problems
  • Clean and sanitize work area as required
  • Assist in weighing and transporting cannabis throughout the harvest process
  • Lift plants and other material up to 15 kilograms
  • Adhere to all occupational health and safety regulations
  • Other duties as assigned
  • General Labour Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent
  • Cannabis industry experience would be considered an asset
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal with ability to comprehend detailed instructions
  • Ability to prioritize and manage conflicting demands
  • Ability to sit and stand for extended periods of time
  • Ability to work individually as well as part of a team
  • Demonstrated time management skills
  • Knowledge of cannabis plant composition is an asset
  • High level of integrity and work ethic
  • Must have own transportation as we are not on a public transportation route
  • Working Conditions:

  • Constant exposure to the strong smell of cannabis
  • Using manual dexterity repetitively
  • Extended periods of stooping, bending, kneeling, walking, and standing
  • Lifting, moving, or manipulating objects up to 15 kilograms
  • Working in an outdoor environment subject to frequent temperature changes
  • Working in hot, humid conditions
  • Working in cold temperatures while outdoors
  • Working in a busy environment
  • Use of required personal protective equipment (Health & Safety and COVID-19 PPE)
  • Overtime as required
  • Requirements of Workers

  • Must have clear criminal background check
  • Must submit a negative COVID-19 test result within 7 days of starting with us
