Mechanical Assembler

Adecco is currently hiring 2 permanent full-time General Labour/Production Workers to work on an on-going basis at a new manufacturing facility in Whitby, ON. Get your foot in the door with our client, who values growth for its employees and has a friendly working environment.

The Mechanical Assembler is responsible for assembling, parts and components including the set-up, operation and maintenance of complex and simple machinery. The mechanical assembler will be responsible for installing, fastening and aligning various parts and components on assemblies using hand and small power tools; utilizing crane and hoists to position, and clean components, troubleshooting and, diagnosing defective components.

  • Pay rate:$18
  • Location: Whitby, ON
  • Shifts:Straight Days 7AM-3:30PM
  • Job type: Permanent – 3 month probationary period

  • Job responsibilities include:

  • Assemble parts according to specifications using assembly drawings, schematics and assembly instructions.
  • Fit parts to very close tolerances and operating requirements.
  • Use of hand and power tools such as soldering gun, drills and precision measuring equipment.
  • Maintains assigned work area and equipment in a safe and professional manner.
  • Maintain and adhere to all company policies and procedures
  • Assemble and attach hardware such as caps, clamps, knobs and switches to assemblies;
  • Perform all duties in accordance with health and safety safe work requirements;
  • Any other related duties as assigned.
  • Simple wiring and electrical testing
  • To qualify, you should:

  • Completion of Secondary School diploma or equivelant
  • 1-3 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment with mechanical and electrical assembly experience.
  • Mathematically inclined
  • Attention to details
  • Ability to understand blueprints and other technical drawings.
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Strong problem solving skills
  • High attention to detail
  • Ability to work in isolation or with a team
  • Willingness to extend knowledge and ability in the role
  • Must be able to pass a background check
