Adecco is currently hiring for a GIS Analyst in Regina, SK. To be considered for this GIS Analyst role, you must have a degree on Geographic Information Systems, a degree in Geographic Information Science Advanced Diploma in GIS Applications, Advanced Diploma in Geographic Information Systems or a Bachelor of Technology - GIS.  

GIS Analyst Responsibilities:

  •  Providing support for GIS data conversion, systems integration and systems and applications development and implementation. 
  •  Design, develop, test, document, and certify applications, programs and systems functionality.
  • Coordinate individual data and application development projects.
  • Preparing project plans, and directing external contractor and vendors to accomplish plan tasks in order to meet user/ data/software requirements.
  • Diagnosing and troubleshooting problems experienced with the use of GIS and related software. 
  • Assisting in training in various aspects of the GIS software and database creation and use. 
  • Performing spatial analyses and creating information products from the GIS and related software and subsystems. 
  • Undertaking data analyses and data conversion.
  • Developing quality control procedures and conducting data quality reviews on products received from external firms.
  • Assisting with the integration of new spatial data into the organization¿s GIS. 
  • Providing support for cartographic design and high quality map production
  • Inputing, updating and maintaining corporate GIS data products (Imagery, Basemaps, Assets).
  • Performing GIS spatial analyses. 
  • Performing GIS data quality control, including reviewing data for completeness and accuracy; identifying and correcting errors or omissions in the data.
  • Supporting the input of new pipeline construction as-built data into the Geographical Information System (GIS)
  • Participating in initiatives were legacy data is converted into the GIS system
  • Catalog and inventory GIS data, including metadata creation. 
  • Creating map layouts and views, and generating maps and reports.

GIS Analyst Qualifications:
  • Preferred : Degree in Geographic Information Systems,  Degree in Geographic Information Science, Advanced Diploma in GIS Applications, Advanced Diploma in Geographic Information Systems, Bachelor of Technology
  • Geographic Information Systems.                                     
  • Degree in Geography + experience with ESRI software for 4 of the last 5 years
  • Alternative :  GIS certificate
  • Preferential candidates will have worked in the natural gas industry and have had two years of recent work experience with ESRIs ArcGIS for Desktop.   
  • A background in the oil and gas industry
  • Demonstrated strong organization and communication skills (both verbal and written)
  • Detail oriented
  • Ability to address/respond to multiple competing demands in a timely fashion
  • Ability to work in a team environment and participate in meetings related to work assignments
  • Experience with the following additional software would be beneficial (Share Point)
