Adecco is currently recruiting for a full-time Governance Analyst in Fort McMurray, AB, to work a one-year contract at a well-established energy company majoring in the production of synthetic crude from oil sands. In this diverse role, you will be responsible for managing compliance with the TA program in order to deliver the results desired by the TA Directors and Steering Team.

  • Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development and implementation of the Turnaround Management Plan (TAMP) specific to the turnaround timing which includes ownership and timing of Risk Management activities, Lessons Learned reviews and Turnaround Assurance reviews
  • Ensures that a formal TAMP is in place for all active Turnaround events, monitoring conformance and advising Turnaround leadership on progress, issues, and readiness
  • Ensures the TAMP is compliant with the corporate guidelines and the M&R standards
  • Responsible for the development of Assurance strategy and Management Plan to support each specific Turnaround event
  • Owner of Workfront system for turnarounds, ensuring system set up for all Turnaround Element owners to ensure reporting and assigned activities are completed at the appropriate designated times
  • Responsible for collecting and facilitating the consistent evaluation of all risks associated with all Turnaround activities
  • Responsible for tracking and reporting the status of all action items that get reported such as new risks, status changes, and changes to mitigation plans or costs that have been previously approved
  • Lead the benchmarking initiatives to drive improvements in operating costs and overall performance of Turnaround activities
  • Responsible for TAMP compliance audits for all TA projects
  • Champion and support continuous improvement, significant change management initiatives and business benchmarking to enable the Business to deliver first-quartile performance
  • Provides analytics and continuous improvement support to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of systems, people and processes
  • Support internal review processes, such as Internal Audits and Reviews of events
  • Requirements and Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or any other applicable field is required
  • Project/Program management experience within the oil sands industry is required, and preferably with extensive Turnaround experience
  • Thorough knowledge of the Turnaround Oil Sands and In Situ business is a must
  • Knowledge of business management, strategic planning and analysis  is crucial for success
  • Ability to lead special projects with support from the Turnaround Management Office
  • Maintain a 2-3 year look-ahead perspective during Turnarounds
  • Able to achieve results through others and to lead multi-disciplinary teams in establishing optimal solutions
  • Possess strong organizational and project management skills
  • Demonstrated analytical skills and the ability to think strategically
  • Superior leadership combined with outstanding verbal and written communication
  • Demonstrated ability to coach, mentor, and develop staff
  • Able to drive Business Process design, development, and alignment
  • Able to engage effectively with internal stakeholders, lead people, and pursue the development of a continuous improvement culture
  • Must be legally eligible to work and reside in Canada
