Adecco is currently hiring a permanent, full-time Group Leader in Scarborough, ON to work for our client, a leading company that majors in the manufacturing industry. In this role, you will be responsible for planning, directing, coordinating, controlling and measuring activities of Team Coordinators and operators engaged in assigned departments. If you have a minimum of 2 years' experience in a leadership role and you have strong communication & interpersonal skills, this job is for you!

  • Shifts: Monday to Thursday | 4:30PM - 1AM, and Fridays | 2PM - 10:30PM

  • Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for Employee safety at the workplace and supporting daily labor requirements based on standard work and Cost targets.
  • Provides direction and support to Team Coordinators regarding production line layout setup to include station work elements, labour balancing, equipment needs and incoming and outgoing material flow
  • Helps Initiate and support continuous improvement and ensures all finished goods reach shipping department to support on-time delivery
  • Works with Coordinator’s to ensure production materials are staged before production process begins and assists with roadblocks
  • Assists Coordinators with line tear down ensuring that material return to stock, storage of assembly fixtures and tool return are completed
  • Initiates actions with Manager to eliminate all issues preventing a quality product that impedes an on time delivery of a production job
  • Accountable for Productivity by order and ensuring Team compliance with regards to quality standards
  • Leads Line meetings for their assigned Teams and follows up on any open actions from meeting
  • Ensures 5S department standards are met and supports audits and corrective action for issues
  • Works with Leadership Team members to ensure overall company training needs are achieved
  • Provides feedback to Manager for performance appraisals of applicable operators
  • Ensure Employee adherence to company policies and safety regulations
  • Confers with Manager with support from Human Resources regarding any disciplinary actions
  • Maintains an appropriate labor-management relationship with ALL team members
  • Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or Post-Secondary education is required; or any combination of education and equivalent experience
  •  Minimum 2 years of experience in a leadership role is preferred
  •  Ability to communicate effectively and strong sense of urgency
  •  Positive employee relations skills and experience training and developing teams
  •  Computer literacy with MS Word, Excel, Outlook – basic to intermediate level
  •  Must be available to work extra hours to meet production deadlines as required
  •  Experience leading between 24-36 direct and in-direct employees an asset
  •  5S experience is an asset
  • Must be legally eligible to work in Canada
